The Shiraz fruit was harvested in March 2014 and immediately transported to our winery in the Hunter Valley where it was crushed. Primary fermentation took place in 7 tonne stainless steel fermenters with pump overs taking place twice a day. At the end of fermentation it was gently pressed off to tank where Malolactic fermentation was allowed to finish. The wine was matured in French oak barriques and puncheons for 10 months before being filtered and bottled.
2014 Vintage began with heavy winter rainfalls that gave way to dry and windy spring conditions. In summer we saw high temperatures and a deluge of rainfall which was then followed by a period of mild and dry conditions that was ideal for the ripening of the fruit. As a result, ripening was slightly later than average and the quality was consistently high.

Intense aromas of rhubarb, mulberries and plums with a subtle fragrant spicy oak.
A fresh and full bodied palate with intense blackcurrant, plums and red licorice. The tannins are soft, whilst sweet oak provides complexity and texture.
